Dr. Kathleen R. Fisher MS, DVM
Owner and Veterinarian
Dr. Kathleen Fisher brings a lifelong passion for animal care and a deep connection to the Washoe Valley community. Long before earning her veterinary degree, she was already immersed in the world of veterinary medicine—working as a kennel attendant in Carson City, cleaning stalls, and gaining hands-on experience in local clinics.
Dr. Fisher earned her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science with a secondary emphasis in Veterinary Technology, followed by a master’s degree in animal science with a dual emphasis of immunology and molecular biology. Dr. Fisher then obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University, one of the nation’s top three veterinary schools. After graduating, she practiced in the area for several years before joining Washoe Valley Veterinary Hospital as an associate. In January 2007, she became the owner, carrying on the trusted legacy of founder Dr. Randall Warner.
With her calm presence, depth of experience, and clear commitment to both pets and their people, Dr. Fisher continues to lead the WVVH team with compassion and a strong sense of community care.
